John has always mixed music with his day job as Chairman of Advent International Europe, a leading international private equity fund, combining his previous experience in merchant banking, strategic consulting worldwide with McKinsey, and carrying out turn-rounds of quoted companies. His interest in music started with accompanying his mezzo-soprano mother; he then studied the French horn, and he still plays the piano, as well as the harpsichord which he built himself.
