City of London Sinfonia is one of the UK’s leading professional orchestras and performs more than one hundred concerts each year throughout the UK and abroad. Founded in 1971 by its Music Director Richard Hickox CBE, CLS has established a reputation for thoughtfully combined programmes and for the expert stylistic interpretation of repertoire performed, and for its large catalogue of recordings that number over one hundred. In London, CLS regularly performs at the Barbican and throughout the City, has a Concert Series at Cadogan Hall, and is Resident Orchestra at Korn/Ferry Opera Holland Park. CLS has also established unique Regional Concert Series and pioneering education work in the communities of Chatham, High Wycombe, Ipswich and King's Lynn.
