CLS joins Classic Response for Haiti

The musicians of City of London Sinfonia have joined forces with other stars from the world of classical music, to raise money for the child victims of the Haiti earthquake.

On Saturday, 3 April 2010 the Royal Albert Hall, London, will stage a one-night-only performance to raise thousands to help the work of the charity SOS Children. The concert will start at 7.30 and will feature City of London Sinfonia conducted by Carl Davis, together with All Angels, Blake, Brighton Festival Chorus, Camilla Kerslake, Escala, Faryl Smith, Jennifer Pyke, Paul Potts and Rhydian. It will be hosted by Aled Jones and Emma Crosby.

Classic response is the UK's classic music community's partnering to raise awareness and funds for victims of natural disasters and disease. The first concert was held in 2005 following the Asian Tsunami; in 2006 funds were raised to help children orphaned by HIV/AIDS in Africa.
