CLoSer gets Arts Council support

We're delighted that CLoSer , our new concert series in partnership with Spitalfields Music, has received a generous grant from the Arts Council England as part of the Grants for the Arts scheme.


CLoSer launches on Tuesday 22 November at one of East London's newest venues, Village Underground, and is designed to appeal to those who like their classical music experiences to be shorter and more informal, and who enjoy a glass of wine while listening.

 

This series' concerts each provide a different musical theme, and the first concert kicks off with a Strings Masterclass including John Adams' immensely popular Shaker Loops and Bartok's spirited masterpiece Divertimento, conducted by Michael Collins.


Following the Strings Masterclass, the Holst Singers join us for Spirit of the Voice on Wednesday 29 February with a Jazz Finale on Wednesday 25 April, with performances and compositions by Gwylim Simcock.
