We're delighted to announce the appointment of Matthew Swann as Chief Executive of City of London Sinfonia, following Barry Kempton's return to the United States.
Matthew joins us from the Roundhouse, where he currently works as Associate Producer for Classical Music. In this role, he created the groundbreaking Reverb festival of contemporary classical music, bringing together classical performers to break down barriers and perform in new and different ways.
Matthew founded and directs the Voices Now festival, in which the Roundhouse hosts a whole day of choral music from a multiplicity of genres, performed by choirs of many types from all over the UK. He is also Programme Manager for the Holst Singers and a Senior Associate with Liz Amos Associates arts executive search and selection consultancy.
This is an exciting time for City of London Sinfonia, as we continue to explore new ways of connecting with audiences through our CLoSer concert series and our Meet the Music education programme. Matthew brings a wealth of experience in generating a fresh approach to classical music and we look forward to welcoming him to our team in March.
