Shaping the Future campaign launch

On Monday 31 October, we held the launch for our new Shaping the Future campaign at Leighton House Museum, one of the more remarkable buildings of the nineteenth century on the edge of Holland Park in Kensington, and former home and studio of leading Victorian artist Lord Leighton (1830-1896). Around 90 people attended the event and a selection of CLS musicians performed Mozart's Quintet in A major for clarinet and strings, with Michael Collins as solo clarinettist. Laura Samuel, Jane Carwardine, Fiona Bonds and Susan Dorey provided the string quartet.

The campaign marks our 40th anniversary and aims to grow and expand vital work in the concert hall, opera house, recording studio, schools, hospitals, care homes and prisons in the UK and abroad. Our vision is to become a leader among British orchestras in the twenty-first century through distinctive programming, social responsibility, innovation and experimentation, and removing the barriers between the Orchestra and the audience.
