How is CLoSer different to regular City of London Sinfonia concerts?
CLoSer concerts are shorter in length and more relaxed in style. They also happen away from the large concert halls and churches you'd usually find us in.
Do we need to know anything about classical music to enjoy the concert?
CLoSer concerts are designed for both the complete beginner or the classical music enthusiast. The concert series is designed in an informal manner with ‘talking' programme notes throughout the performance so you don't need to have any prior knowledge as it's all provided on the night!
Is it going to be really formal?
This concert series is designed to appeal to those who like their live music experiences to be intimate and informal and enjoy a glass of wine while listening! There is no traditional concert seating so you can sit on beanbags or stand and there's no dress code so you can wear whatever you like. It's designed to be an informal, social experience and where the venue allows the audience to get up close to the musicians.
Can I take a drink into the concert?
Yes, of course. The cash-only bar opens at 6.45pm and remains open throughout the performance.
How long does the concert last?
Each concert lasts 75 minutes, with no interval.
